Bio
On a downtown city street, across from a little cafe, in the lower level of a beautiful old building, you can find Telescope hard at work on it’s next album. Brothers Adam and Jason are joined by Mike and Seth to round out this four piece Alternative Pop band from Arizona.
From its downtown studio in Flagstaff, AZ, Telescope is making it’s name with an infectious, energetic live show and songwriting that beams with sincerity.
Telescope has reached some remarkable landmarks early in their career. With an over the top promotional effort, the band broke onto the Arizona scene in 2009. They gave away 7,000 copies of their album, “For the Rest of Us”, spreading the music by hand to music fans exiting the Tempe Music Festival in Tempe. In what proved to be a story book turn around, Telescope was playing the main stage of the festival the following year, alongside such acts as the All American Rejects. This proved to be only the beginning of exciting developments for the band. Their song “Bright Eyes” was featured on ABC’s “Scrubs” and soon after, VH1 featured one of Telescope’s songs on its hit show, “Tough Love Couples.” When the band’s song, “I’ll Drive tonight” broke the top 25 on the Alt. Specialty charts, and began to get rotation on a major station in the Phoenix market, things really started heating up.
The success of 2010 grabbed the attention of promoters, industry professionals and most importantly, an increasing audience of music listeners. Within the year Telescope went from virtually unknown to playing 1,000 seat halls regularly. This success garnered interest from the band’s manager Glen Parrish of the legendary firm Azoff Music Management. After seeing the band play a show at the Viper Room in Hollywood he was sold. Glen has been working with the band as they write new music and work toward building a successful music career.
Surrounded by downtown buildings, people scurrying by, hustle and bustle, the band is hard at work on its next album. They carry their passion for music and performing with them wherever they go. This has helped them find a genuine connection with the people who matter most, the people who listen to their music, and come to their shows. If you’re walking through downtown you might run into Telescope. They can be seen taking breaks, throwing the frisbee in the park next to their studio and talking about music at the coffee shop across the street. If you’re not in the area, visit Telescope at a live show or online at www.telescopemusic.com.
